Weekly Neighborhood Watch Report

Another week to celebrate barely any crimes reported within Parkridge neighborhood.
2 incidents were on the east side - one aggravated assault on the 2500 block of East Fifth Avenue - and one case of identity theft or impersonation at Jefferson and Cherry. There was a theft of motor vehicle parts or accessories from a residence/home on Magnolia Avenue near Jessamine.   Within the mile radius but outside the proper boundaries of Parkridge, there was a burglary from a motor vehicle across from Martin Luther King Boulevard. There was a burglary on Fourth Avenue.  More burglaries in the Holston Hills area.  BAIR analytics suggests the Summit Hill / Downtown and Chilhowee Park are "hot" areas of burglary.  It might be worth keeping an eye out for burglary, if the burglars are working neighborhoods. 

Burglary in vicinity of Parkridge

Within a wide, 5 mile radius of Olive and Washington, there were 27 burglaries.  In the previous week, there were 21 in the same radius. In the week prior, there were 17.  It is worth keeping an eye on these increasing numbers of burglaries.  The data for the three week period from January 3 to January 24 suggests that peaks for burglaries within 5 miles of Parkridge are Wednesdays with 20, Fridays with 17, followed by Tuesdayas, Saturdays, Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Lower Crimes Reported for January 10 - 17

For the week of Friday, January 10 to Friday, January 17, there were 19 incidents reported within a 1 mile radius of Olive and Washington.

A noticeable trend for the week was an uptick in reports of vandalism (4 incidents).  However, only one act of vandalism was reported within the boundaries of Parkridge itself: namely, one incident on a "road or alleyway" on the 2000 block of East Glenwood Avenue.  This was a "Felony" vandalism however, while the other events outside the neighborhood were misdemeanors.

There was a theft of a motor vehicle (truck) near Chestnut and Magnolia.

The good news is there were very few crimes reported this week.
