Watchful Eye on Thefts from Motor Vehicles

Just read the two "theft from motor vehicle" incidents posted on the PCO Facebook Page.

In the past week, three thefts from vehicles were reported in the vicinity of Parkridge. So everyone keep a watchful eye for suspicious activity!

In the week prior there was one theft from vehicles:

From historic data from 2010 - 2013 <http://alertparkridge.blogspot.com/p/burglary-from-motor-vehicle.html>, the most frequent day for theft from motor vehicle is Thursday, followed by Friday and Sunday night.

The hot spot for activity is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening at 6 PM, ranging from 4 to 6 pm.  Very few thefts from motor vehicles are reported between 1 am and 6 am.  A baseline of thefts is between 8 and 12.  Theives appear not to like Wednesday at 7 pm or Saturday at 12 am.

Geographically, hot spots for motor vehicle thefts are high at Magnolia and North Olive Street, followed by Winona and North Olive, then Boruff and Glenwood.

Geographically, the entered “Edgewood” section of Parkridge is equally victimized by thefts from motor vehicles.  A slightly higher level of thefts from motor vehicles is along East Fifth Avenue to Chestnut Street.
