Alerts via Twitter or Text Message

This blog is now linked to a Twitter account of the same name.

This is useful if you would like to get notifications of new posts via Twitter at @alertparkridge.

Also, Twitter was originally built to work with SMS (simple message service), better known as Text Message.

If you have free texting, you might consider signing up for notifications from @alertparkridge via your mobile phone.

Here are instructions from Twitter:
Fast Follow. Anyone in the US can receive Tweets on their phone even if they haven’t signed up for Twitter. This is a simple way for people to get information they care about in real-time. For example, let’s say you want to get Tweets from New York City’s office of emergency management (@NotifyNYC). Just text ‘follow NotifyNYC’ to 40404 in the US.
